Subaru Canada Unveils Performance-Driven 2024 WRX RS

Subaru Canada has pulled the covers off its latest offering: the 2024 WRX RS. This new addition to the WRX line is anything but basic, boasting enhancements in performance and handling capabilities that are setting new benchmarks for the brand. At its core is the RS-tuned suspension system front and back, tweaked to cut down on body roll and sway, thereby offering a more responsive steering feel. Complementing this are 19-inch gunmetal alloy wheels encased in 245/35 R19 Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires, promising optimal grip for the corners.

For those who are concerned about stopping prowess, the 2024 WRX RS comes fitted with a high-performance Brembo braking system. This system features red-painted 6-piston front calipers and 2-piston rear calipers, bolstered with larger pads and cross-drilled rotors. Together, these elements work in synergy to deliver better stopping power, reduce fade, and offer a more tactile pedal feel.

Advancements in Safety and Comfort

When it comes to safety, the 2024 WRX RS doesn't compromise. For the first time in WRX history, EyeSight Driver Assist Technology comes as standard equipment, not just on the RS but across all 2024 WRX models with a manual transmission. This state-of-the-art safety feature package includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking System, and Lane Departure and Sway Warning, among others.

While performance and safety are critical, the 2024 WRX RS also excels in creature comforts. Inside the cabin, drivers are greeted by black and grey Recaro sport bucket seats adorned with Ultrasuede inserts. These seats are engineered to offer superior support, especially during tight cornering, making for a confident and secure driving experience. Furthermore, an 11.6-inch infotainment screen comes equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a range of other features such as dual-zone automatic climate control and heated front seats.

The Engine Room and Additional Perks

Nestled under the hood is a 2.4-litre turbocharged Subaru BOXER engine, churning out 271 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque across a generous curve. The WRX RS comes solely with a 6-speed manual transmission and Subaru's signature symmetrical all-wheel drive, giving drivers complete control over their ride.

Outside, the WRX RS maintains its wide-body design, accented with a hexagonal grille and compact LED headlights. The rear boasts a low-profile, body-coloured spoiler and taillights that echo the aesthetics of volcanic magma. Among its list of exclusive features are steering-responsive headlights, mirror-integrated LED turn signals, and Subaru STARLINK Connected Services.

Scheduled to hit Canadian retailers in Q1 2024, the Subaru WRX RS is a well-rounded package offering advanced performance, safety, and comfort features that cater to today's discerning drivers. With its introduction, Subaru Canada aims to redefine what drivers should expect from a performance vehicle.
