All you need to know about the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid

The 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid arrives with an all-new electrified powertrain and significant improvements in performance and safety. Designed to offer greater fuel efficiency while retaining the off-road capabilities for which the brand is renowned, this hybrid vehicle combines a combustion engine with an electric motor. Available from late 2025, the Crosstrek e-BOXER Hybrid will offer smoother driving, advanced connectivity and enhanced safety.

A high-performance hybrid powertrain

The 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid features a new-generation e-BOXER Hybrid system. It combines a 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER gasoline engine operating on the Atkinson cycle with an electric motor and a high-capacity lithium-ion battery. With a total output of 194 hp, this model ensures greater fuel efficiency without compromising performance. Its Lineartronic CVT transmission system ensures a smooth ride, adapted to all road conditions.

Symmetrical all-wheel drive for optimum grip

True to Subaru tradition, the 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid is equipped with full-time symmetrical all-wheel drive. It also features an X-MODE with hill descent control, enabling it to maintain excellent traction even on difficult terrain. With a ground clearance of 220 mm, this hybrid model offers greater off-road capability than many larger SUVs.

Advanced safety technologies

Safety is a priority for Subaru, and the 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid is no exception. It features the latest version of EyeSight driver assistance technology. This enhanced version boasts a wider field of vision, optimized software and an electric brake booster. It detects pedestrians and cyclists more quickly, and intervenes if necessary to avoid a collision. The vehicle is also equipped with automatic reverse braking, blind spot detection and lane change assist.

A modern, connected interior

The 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid features a redesigned interior with an intuitive user interface. The 11.6-inch SUBARU STARLINK touchscreen is compatible wirelessly with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It integrates features such as navigation, rearview camera and automatic software updates. The driving experience is enhanced by improved ergonomics and quality materials.

Design and new colours

The 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid adopts a robust, modern style. Two new exclusive colours make their appearance: Sand Dune Pearl and Citron Yellow Pearl. It also boasts uniquely designed 18-inch wheels, adding a distinctive touch to its dynamic look.

Price and availability

Subaru Canada has not yet announced prices and full details of the 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid and its trim levels. However, this information will be disclosed closer to its on-sale date, scheduled for late 2025.
