2023 Subaru Solterra vs 2023 Toyota bZ4X

The 2023 Subaru Solterra and Toyota bZ4X are both really cool vehicles. They're similar to each other in the sense that they're unique and refreshing. It's time to compare them, so you can choose the one that's best for you.

Biggest Upgrades from the Previous Year

This is the first year Subaru will introduce a fully electric car. The previous versions were plug-in hybrid crosstrek cars. The Solterra will be a limited edition, and Subaru claims it'll only create 6500 of these cars. The BZ4V, on the other hand, is a new lineup which will arrive for the first time in 2023.

Pricing and Engine

The Subaru Soltera is priced at an MSRP of $54,295, while the 2023 Toyota bZ4X is priced at an MSRP of $44,990, which makes them both highly affordable for an electric vehicle. The Subaru has a horsepower of 215 hp and torque of 249 lb-ft with a fuel economy of 2.0 - 3.0 City/HWY combined. It delivers a range of 224 km.

Alternatively, the 2023 Toyota bZ4X delivers 201 hp and a torque of 196 lb-ft. The fuel economy for this vehicle is unknown as of now, but it has a range of 252 km.

Interior Layout and Options

Both vehicles are five-seaters and do not feature internal reading lamps. Both are equipped with power windows, power door locks, and keyless entry and start. While the highest trim on the bZ4X features a power driver seat, the top two trims on the Solterra feature this. Another thing where the Solterra stands out is seat memory which does not come with the bZ4X.

Exterior Layout and Options

The top two trims on the bZ4X feature a sun/moon roof, while only the top trim on the Solterra features this. Both models also feature daytime running lights, automatic headlights, and auto-levelling headlights. The top two trims on both models also feature mirrors with integrated turn signals. While the top trim of the bZ4X features a rearview mirror with auto-dimming, all trims on the Solterra feature this.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

Both models feature multiple airbags, ABS system, traction and stability control, and child safety locks. Both cars also feature backup cameras and brake assist. One difference between the two models is that the bZ4X features Blind Spot Monitor only on the top two trims, while the Solterra features this on all trims.
