2022 Subaru Legacy models

After spending three decades in the world market, the 2022 Subaru Legacy continues with its seventh generation. It proposes a new platform, engines, and greater technological improvement.

The seventh generation of the 2022 Subaru Legacy models has already been a reality for two years. For all that it offers, this generational change is relevant and is a turning point in the commercial life of this model.

The 2022 Subaru Legacy models at a Glance

The 2022 Subaru Legacy models adopt the brand’s new design philosophy without showing a very radical evolution. It offers elongated optics with angled edges at the front a trapezoidal louvre with a thick chrome line at the top. The bumper with a wide central air intake and thick moulding wraps the explorer lights.

The smoothed roof drop stands out on the sides, trying to get closer to a fastback. The wheel arches receive 17 or 18-inch wheels, with 225/55 and 225/50 tires, respectively. Meanwhile, to the rear, it exhibits elongated lights and a voluminous air deflector on the bumper, a detail that makes it look sportier.

The interior of the 2022 Subaru Legacy models offers greater perceived quality. With Nappa leather upholstery in tan Nappa leather for the most luxurious level. It can include an 11.6-inch vertical touchscreen with a Starlink multimedia center, an improved interface, and graphics. It also has a Wi-Fi hotspot, Travel Link, HD Radio, and compatibility with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and MirrorLink.

Mechanical Aspects of the 2022 Subaru Legacy

Another feature of the 2022 Subaru Legacy models is their structure. It is built on the new modular global platform, 70% more rigid than the vertebrate one used in the previous generation. The center of gravity was lowered, improving the vehicle’s dynamic behaviour in curves.

The basic engine is the 2.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated Boxer, delivering 182 hp at 5,800 rpm and 239 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. The 2.4-liter Turbo with 260 hp at 5,600 rpm and 360 Nm of torque is also available. These engines are connected to a CVT Lineartronic automatic gearbox. This with improved ratios to optimize consumption.

As a tradition with Subaru, permanent all-wheel drive Symmetrical AWD and torque vectoring are standard. The suspension includes aluminum parts with redesigned shock absorbers to reduce the car’s unsprung mass. They also optimize its performance.

Onboard technology

The assists present in the 2022 Subaru Legacy models are part of the EyeSight package. The package includes blind-spot detection, lane change alert, rear cross-traffic warning, automatic emergency braking, and high beam assist. It features a fatigue detector, while the entire range receives LED lights.

Another interesting technology is facial recognition that automatically detects the person is driving.
