2021 Subaru Ascent trim levels

The Subaru Ascent is the company's flagship three-row SUV, bringing together advanced engineering, family-friendly comfort, and impeccable safety ratings. The latest 2021 model is now available at Toronto's premier Subaru dealer, with four excellent trims to choose from. Which one is right for you? Read on to find out.

Ascent Convenience

The Convenience trim is the affordable entry point for the Ascent SUV range. As with every other model in the lineup, it's powered by a 2.4L engine making 260 horsepower and 277lb-ft of torque, passed to all-wheel drive through a continuously variable transmission (CVT). If you're looking for a family SUV that combines lively performance with great fuel economy, the Ascent is the model to choose with a highway rating of just 8.7L / 100km.

The Convenience's interior seats up to eight and is equipped to a highly comfortable standard, with features including heated front seats, a seat belt reminder for rows two and three, and tri-zone climate control. A 6.5" touchscreen powers the infotainment section, complete with smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while multiple USB ports are located around the cabin for plentiful charging options.

The standard safety features are also highly specified, and include traffic jam assist, lane centring assist, forward collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, and steering-responsive LED headlights.

And lastly, as well as seating up to eight in comfort, the large cabin offers an impressive amount of cargo space, with a maximum of 2,449L available with the rear seats folded down.

Ascent Touring

The Touring trim adds the option of second-row captain's chairs for increased second-row comfort, while also substantially upgrading the amount of technology offered as standard. The infotainment touchscreen size is increased to a generous 8", with the software also giving access to the Subaru StarLink connected services system. The active safety features are also enhanced, and include rear / side vehicle detection and reverse automatic emergency braking.

Ascent Limited

The Limited trim takes interior comfort to even greater heights, with standard features including a 10-way powered driver's seat with memory function, alongside leather upholstery on the seating surfaces. As with the touring trim, the Ascent is available with seating for eight passengers, or seven when the second row is fitted with dual captain's chairs.

The infotainment section is upgraded to include navigation as standard, while the onboard sound system is traded up to a 14-speaker Harman Kardon premium setup. And lastly, 20" alloy wheels with a machined finish add high-end looks to the exterior.

Ascent Premier

Lastly, the Premier trim sits at the head of the 2021 Subaru Ascent family SUV lineup, and boasts premium features including ventilated seats with black or brown leather finishing, a front-view camera, a smart rear-view mirror, and power-folding exterior mirrors with a satin chrome finish.
