2020 Subaru WRX Price, Features and Performance

Thanks to precise handling, a firm ride, and responsive steering and power, the rally-car inspired 2020 Subaru WRX puts the thrill back into driving. Available in two versions - WRX and WRX STI - there's a WRX for every Sport-Performance buyer. MSRPs for the 2020 Subaru WRX range from $29,995 for the base trim up to $47,395 for WRX STI Sport Tech models. These, of course, are manufacturer's suggested prices and Toronto buyers may enjoy considerable savings depending on current dealer incentives.

Exterior Features

Available colour choices like World Rally Blue Pearl or Crystal Black Silica provide an immediate sense of sport-performance for the new WRX. Add in an aerodynamically designed sport nose cone, a hood scoop, integrated aerodynamic side mouldings, and stainless steel exhaust, and the WRX says "fun to drive," for sure. An integrated rear spoiler completes the statement on STI models.

Interior Features

All WRX models feature comfortable and well-bolstered seats. Available Recaro front seats add even more comfort and support, as well as sporty red trim. A spacious trunk along with standard 60/40 split-folding rear seats provide plenty of cargo space. Automatic Climate Control comes standard on all WRX editions. For entertainment, base models come with a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system while Premium and Limited models get a larger 7.0-inch unit. Both systems feature Subaru's STARLINK smartphone integration which includes Aha radio, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, as well as single, or dual auxiliary inputs and USB ports. Factory-installed SiriusXM Satellite Radio also comes on every 2020 WRX. Audiophiles will appreciate the Harmon Kardon 9-speaker sound system found on the higher-end trims.

Technology

The 2020 Subaru WRX offers enough technologies to keep most tech lovers more than happy. Every model comes with Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity with voice activation and steering wheel-mounted controls, as well as a Subaru EyeSight Assist Monitor, and an EyeSight LCD Driver Information Centre which displays an SI-DRIVE indicator (CVT transmission only), dual trip odometers, warning alerts, and other important vehicle information.

Performance

Performance is the "name of the game" for the new WRX. Engine options include a 258-hp 2.0-litre, or 310-hp 2.5-litre Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC), 16-valve, horizontally opposed, 4-cylinder SUBARU BOXER engine with twin-scroll turbocharger and intercooler, with Electronic Throttle Control and a Dual Active Valve Control System with direct injection. The 2.5-litre engine features a high-pressure turbocharger and high-capacity intercooler, as well. Transmission options, ( depending on the trim), are a 6-speed Manual Transmission, a 6-speed close-ratio Manual Transmission with Hill Holder system, or Subaru's Sport Lineartronic transmission with six and eight-speed manual modes.

Safety Features

Subaru takes safety seriously and loads all of its vehicles with plenty of active and passive safety features, as well as all of the latest driver-assist technologies. Every WRX trim (excluding the base WRX model), comes standard with side and rear vehicle detection, blind-spot warning, lane change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. Higher trims add Pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and lane-keep assist.
