2020 Subaru Crosstrek vs 2020 Toyota RAV4 Features

With so many different SUVs on the market today—subcompact, compact, crossovers, and more—it can be difficult to figure out which one fits your needs and lifestyle. Many crossover SUVs live up to their name—built on a car platform, they offer the agile handling of a car with the storage space of an SUV. It is hard not to like a vehicle that combines the best of both worlds. Two vehicles that do just that are the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek and 2020 Toyota RAV4.

2020 Subaru Crosstrek Review

The Subaru Crosstrek was introduced as an all-new crossover SUV by Subaru in 2013, and its popularity has grown exponentially since then. The 2020 model offers seven different versions—the Convenience, Touring, and Sport (with or without EyeSight), and the Limited. Starting at $23,795 for the lowest Convenience model, the Crosstrek offers the legendary SUBARU BOXER engine and full-time all-wheel drive (AWD) system.

The Crosstrek comes standard with a touch-screen infotainment system featuring both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, as well as 152 horsepower and seating capacity for five people. Whether you want the Crosstrek to journey off-road on new adventures or zip around town for running errands, it can handle the diverse and ever-changing landscape you want to explore.

Subaru offers a full range of safety features when you opt for the EyeSight driver assist technology, which includes high beam assist, blind-spot detection/rear cross-traffic alert, reverse automatic braking, traction control system, anti-lock braking system, and the SUBARU STARLINK system.

2020 Toyota RAV4 Review

The Toyota RAV4 is one of the staples of the crossover SUV market. Introduced in 2004, the latest 2020 version includes nine different models—the LE, XLE, Trail, and Limited in a variety of front-wheel drive (FWD), AWD, gas, and hybrid options. Starting at $28,090 for the LE FWD model, the Toyota RAV4 boasts a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine with 203 horsepower and 8.8/6.8 city/hwy L/100km fuel economy.

Even the lowest-priced Toyota RAV4 comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, keeping you, other drivers, and pedestrians safe while the vehicle is in motion. These standard safety features include lane tracing assist, auto high beam, dynamic cruise control, pre-collision system with pedestrian and bicycle detection, lane departure alert, backup camera, blind-spot monitoring, and more.

The main difference between the Crosstrek and RAV4 is that the Crosstrek is considered a compact crossover while the RAV4 is a mid-size vehicle. This means that the RAV4 offers more space, both for passengers and for cargo. However, they both offer the same towing capacity.

While the Crosstrek and RAV4 are both very similar, the Crosstrek offers more bang for your buck. Even though it is a smaller vehicle, it costs several thousand dollars less than the lowest-priced RAV4 and comes standard with more features, including AWD. You can change your idea of driving when you experience the pep and zip of a Crosstrek.
