For 2021, Subaru redesigned its popular Crosstrek crossover SUV, giving the entire vehicle a refresh that builds on its unique design, powerful performance, and efficient capability. This exceptionally capable crossover stands out even more prominently with its 2021 edition, which provides an additional engine option, new Outdoor model, additional safety features, and updated, refined design.
Subaru's Safety Sense
Since its inception, Subaru has been laser-focused on providing the latest in safety technology. Its Subaru EyeSight drive-assist system offers impressive levels of safety through features such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure and sway warning system, lane keep assist, and more. New for 2021, Subaru has introduced Lake Centring Assist on its Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control feature, which helps with steering, braking, and throttle control.
2021 Subaru Crosstrek - Trim Levels
The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek is offered in eight trim levels across Canada, including Toronto. Starting at $23,795, these trim levels include Convenience, Convenience with Eyesight, Touring, Touring with EyeSight, Outdoor with EyeSight, Sport, Sport with EyeSight, and Limited with Eyesight.
The lowest-level Convenience model comes standard with what Subaru has become known for--its symmetrical full-time all-wheel drive (AWD) and Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The standard engine is a 2.0-litre Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC), 16-valve 4-cylinder SUBARU BOXER ENGINE that provides 152 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. With its compact design, the 2021 Crosstrek gets superior fuel economy--10.5 L/100km city and 8.1 L/100km highway.
A 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality comes standard and grows to an 8-inch touchscreen on higher-level models. For adventurers, the Crosstrek is more than capable of tackling off-road conditions with 220m of ground clearance.
New Crosstrek Outdoor Model
New for 2021, Subaru has introduced the bold Outdoor trim level, which includes more unique design features, more off-road capability thanks to a dual-function version of X-MODE, and 2.5-litre direct-injection Subaru BOXER engine. This new powertrain furthers the Crosstrek's reputation for excitement and adventure with 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque.
The Outdoor model has some subtle design differences compared to the other trim levels, including a gun metallic colouring on the front grille accent, exterior mirror caps, fog light cover accents, and shark fine antenna. In addition, the new Plasma Yellow Pearl exterior colour is exclusive to the Outdoor trim level.
Subaru's Spacious Crossover
Even with its unique, curved hatchback style, the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek offers plenty of cargo space, topping out at 588 L with the second row of seats upright and 1565 L with the seats folded flat. Passengers have plenty of area to spread out with 1095mm of legroom in the front and 926mm in the rear of the vehicle.
